Eosinophil Major Basic Protein

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes human eosinophil major basic protein (14kD) irrespective of the stages of eosinophil activation and can be regarded as a "pan-eosinophil" marker. Recognizes the secreted pro-form of MBP (Pregnancy associated MBP, 23.8kD) and the mature form found in the matrix of the eosinophil large specific granule (13.8kD). Does not crossreact with equine, mouse or rat MBP.
