Heat Shock Protein 70, Universal (HSP70)
Product Specifications
NCBI Gene ID
12282
Reactivity
Avian, Drosophila, Frog, Human, Mouse
Storage Conditions
May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Specificity
Recognizes several members of the HSP70 gene family, including HSP70, HSC70, GRP78, and following heat shock, HSP72 in a broad range of species, including human, mouse, avian, frog, fish, drosophila, and wheat HSP70. Detects bands from ~70 to ~78kDa by Western blot, representing different members of the HSP70 family. 2-D-gel electrophoresis is required to resolve the heat induced form of these proteins from their constitutively expressed counterparts.
