Exendin 4

May be stored at 4 °C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 °C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 °C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes exendin-4. No cross-reactivity with GLP-1, GLP-2 (human) or glucagon coated on ELISA wells. There is full reaction with exendin-4 (9-39) when used as coat in ELISA showing an epitope in the 9-39 region. Binds to exendin-4 when coated on ELISA wells and reacts specifically with exendin-4 in solution giving a Ka of 1.8x10e8 in an inhibition ELISA. The binding between this product and exendin-4 is disrupted by 0.1M glycine pH 3.
