SCH-42354 is a potent, orally active neutral endopeptidase (NEP) inhibitor, derived from the prodrug SCH-42495. It enhances atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) activity and inhibits the hydrolysis of leu-enkephalin and ANF with low nanomolar IC50 values. This compound demonstrates antihypertensive effects and is a valuable research tool for cardiovascular and neuropeptide studies in vitro and in vivo.
