Talnetant hydrochloride is a potent and selective neurokinin 3 (NK3) receptor antagonist, exhibiting a Ki of 1.4 nM in hNK-3-CHO cells with >100-fold selectivity over the NK2 receptor. This small molecule is a valuable research tool for investigating the role of NK3 signaling in central nervous system disorders, including schizophrenia and menopausal hot flashes, in both in vitro and in vivo models.
