Rosuvastatin Sodium is a potent, competitive HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (IC50: 11 nM) that also blocks the hERG potassium channel (IC50: 195 nM) . It is used in research to study statin effects on cholesterol biosynthesis and cardiac electrophysiology, including hERG trafficking and its interaction with Hsp70, in both cellular and animal models.
