8-Azido-ADP (disodium) is a photoactivatable, irreversible inhibitor of the mitochondrial ADP/ATP carrier (ANT) . It is used in vitro to study nucleotide transport mechanisms and to probe mitochondrial bioenergetics, particularly the regulation of respiratory states.
