Specificity
34betaB4 is specific for "high molecular weight" cytokeratin 1, 68kDa, of "complex" epithelium. The antibody reacts with all squamous epithelium and squamous carcinomas. It does not react with adenocarcinomas of either simple epithelium (hepatoma) or ductal origin (breast, pancreas)
