Aflatrem
Aflatrem is a tremorgenic mycotoxin that acutely induces neurodegeneration in hippocampal systems. It potentiates GABA-induced chloride currents via GABAA receptors, explaining its in vivo neurotoxic symptoms. This compound is used in neuroscience research to study excitotoxicity, GABA receptor modulation, and tremorgenic mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo models.
