Gitoxin
Gitoxin is a cardenolide metabolite of digitoxin that acts as a Na+/K+-ATPase inhibitor. It exhibits antiarrhythmic properties and inhibits human erythrocyte isoenzymes at micromolar concentrations. This small molecule is used in cardiovascular research to study ion transport mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
