Captopril hydrochloride
Captopril hydrochloride is an orally active, thiol-containing ACE inhibitor (IC50=0.025 μM) used in hypertension and heart failure research. It also inhibits the New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1 (NDM-1) enzyme with an IC50 of 7.9 μM. This dual activity makes it a valuable tool for cardiovascular and antimicrobial resistance studies in vitro and in vivo.
