4beta-Carboxy-19-nortotarol
This compound acts as an antioxidant by inhibiting both microsomal and mitochondrial lipid peroxidation induced by iron complexes, as well as linoleic acid autoxidation. It does not scavenge superoxide anions. Its properties make it a useful research tool for studying oxidative stress mechanisms in cellular and biochemical models.
