BODIPY aminoacetaldehyde (BAAA) is a fluorogenic substrate for aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) . Its conversion to a fluorescent product enables the identification and isolation of viable ALDH-bright cells, such as hematopoietic stem cells, in both flow cytometry and in vitro functional assays.
