Trans-Hinokiresinol

Hinokiresinol is a small molecule with antiallergic and anti-inflammatory properties, acting as an inhibitor of LTB4 binding to human neutrophils and showing activity in mouse passive cutaneous anaphylaxis models. It also functions as an estrogen receptor agonist, stimulating proliferation in estrogen-dependent T47D breast cancer cells in vitro, while its trans-isomer demonstrates neuroprotective effects in cortical neuron models of oxygen-glucose deprivation.
