(+) -Oleuropeic acid exhibits strong antitumor-promoting activity in vitro. It has also been shown to inhibit two-stage chemical carcinogenesis in vivo, specifically in a mouse skin model using nitric oxide and TPA as initiator and promoter, respectively. This makes it a compound of interest for cancer chemoprevention research.
