Ambroxol (NA-872) is a mucoactive agent used in respiratory research to reduce mucus viscosity and enhance clearance. It stimulates pulmonary surfactant production and is applied in studies of chronic bronchitis, COPD, and related in vitro and in vivo models of mucociliary dysfunction.
