Docusate sodium
Docusate sodium (Aerosol OT) is an over-the-counter stool softener for constipation. It is also utilized in biochemical research as an anionic surfactant for membrane studies and in vitro permeability assays. Clinical use has not been associated with liver injury or significant serum enzyme elevations.
