ICI 118,551 hydrochloride is a potent and highly selective β2-adrenergic receptor antagonist, with Kis of 0.7 nM for β2, 49.5 nM for β1, and 611 nM for β3 receptors. It is widely used in pharmacological research to investigate β2-AR function in both in vitro binding assays and in vivo models of asthma and cardiovascular physiology.
