Gabexate mesylate (FOY) is a synthetic serine protease inhibitor that selectively targets thrombin, plasmin, and kallikrein. It is applied in research models of pancreatitis, DIC, and as an experimental anticoagulant, with utility in both in vitro enzymatic assays and in vivo pharmacological studies.
