Clomipramine hydrochloride is a tricyclic antidepressant that acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Following oral absorption and hepatic conversion to desmethylclomipramine, it is used in research models of depression, OCD, and neuropathic pain for in vivo and in vitro pharmacological studies.
