Tizanidine HCl is a centrally-acting α2-adrenergic agonist that suppresses neurotransmitter release from noradrenergic neurons. It is widely used in research to study muscle spasticity mechanisms and to probe adrenergic signaling pathways in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
