Metyrapone
Metyrapone (NSC-25265) is a potent and selective inhibitor of steroid 11β-hydroxylase, the enzyme encoded by CYP11B1. It is widely used in both clinical diagnostics for assessing hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis function in Cushing's syndrome and in biomedical research to modulate corticosteroid levels in vitro and in vivo.
