Metformin hydrochloride
Metformin hydrochloride (1,1-Dimethylbiguanide hydrochloride) is a blood-brain barrier permeable AMPK activator widely used in type 2 diabetes research. It improves glycemic control by enhancing insulin sensitivity and reducing intestinal glucose absorption, and is also investigated in metabolic, aging, and oncology studies using in vitro and in vivo models.
