PMSF
PMSF (Phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride) is an irreversible serine/cysteine protease inhibitor commonly used to prevent protein degradation during cell lysis. It is a staple reagent in biochemistry and cell biology for both in vitro enzymatic assays and the preparation of protein extracts from tissues or cultured cells.
