Beclamide (N-benzyl-B-chloropropionamide) is a historical anticonvulsant and sedative agent studied in the 1950s, primarily for generalized tonic-clonic seizures. It was investigated in both in vivo and in vitro experimental models for its pharmacological properties, though it proved ineffective against absence seizures.
