Shield-1 is a cell-permeable, high-affinity ligand for FKBP12 that stabilizes mutant FKBP fusion proteins, enabling their conditional expression. This small molecule is utilized in both in vitro and in vivo studies for controlling protein stability within chemical biology and targeted protein degradation research.
