Gemfibrozil
Gemfibrozil is a PPARα agonist that promotes fatty acid oxidation and lipoprotein lipase synthesis, enhancing triglyceride clearance and reducing apoC-III and VLDL-C. It also increases apoA-I/A-II expression to raise HDL-C. This fibric acid derivative is used in research on dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, and metabolic syndrome in both cellular and animal models.
