Miglitol (BAY1099) is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor used as a research tool for studying antihyperglycemic mechanisms. It is applied in both in vitro enzyme assays and in vivo models of diabetes to investigate postprandial glucose control and carbohydrate metabolism.
