Sulbactam
Sulbactam is a semi-synthetic β-lactamase inhibitor that inactivates the enzyme by irreversible binding, protecting susceptible penicillins and cephalosporins from degradation. It is widely used in research to study antibiotic resistance mechanisms and to evaluate combination therapies in both in vitro and in vivo models against β-lactamase-producing bacteria.
