Solithromycin

Solithromycin is a novel, orally bioavailable macrolide antibiotic that potently inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It demonstrates in vitro efficacy against key respiratory pathogens like Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae and has been investigated in clinical trials for community-acquired bacterial pneumonia.
