Cilastatin
Cilastatin is a dehydropeptidase-I inhibitor co-administered with the antibiotic imipenem to prevent its renal degradation, thereby enhancing therapeutic efficacy. It also inhibits leukotriene D4 metabolism and is used in research involving bacterial infection models and studies of leukotriene-mediated inflammatory pathways.
