N-Acetyl-β-Asp-Glu (NAAG) is a dipeptide neurotransmitter, formed from N-acetylaspartate and glutamate, and ranks as the third most abundant neurotransmitter in the mammalian brain. It is widely used in neuroscience research to study its role as a selective agonist of metabotropic glutamate receptor 3 (mGluR3) in both in vitro and in vivo models.
