Almotriptan
Almotriptan (LAS 31416) is a selective 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonist used as a triptan medication for migraine. Its mechanism involves cranial vasoconstriction, which redistributes blood flow by increasing cerebral circulation while reducing extracerebral vessel flow. This pharmacological action has been characterized in both in vitro binding assays and in vivo models of migraine.
