XAP044 is a selective mGlu7 receptor antagonist. It blocks lateral amygdala long-term potentiation (LTP) in wild-type mouse brain slices with an IC50 of 88 nM. This compound is a valuable research tool for investigating synaptic plasticity, fear memory, and anxiety-related disorders in both in vitro and in vivo models.
