JGB1741 is a potent and selective SIRT1 inhibitor (IC50=15 μM) that induces p53-mediated apoptosis in breast cancer cells by modulating the Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and increasing acetylated p53 levels. Its mechanism, involving cytochrome c release and PARP cleavage, supports its use in vitro for studying oncogenic cell survival pathways.
