Tasimelteon (BMS-214778) is a selective melatonin receptor agonist used to treat Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder. It is widely applied in circadian rhythm research, with studies demonstrating its in vivo efficacy in entraining sleep-wake cycles in blind individuals and its in vitro binding affinity for MT1 and MT2 receptors.
