Tetrachlorocatechol (TCC) is a highly toxic chlorinated catechol, primarily formed during pulp chlorobleaching and as a metabolite of pentachlorophenol. It is used in environmental toxicology research to study its mechanisms of toxicity and biodegradation in both in vitro and in vivo models.
