Jatrorrhizine
Jatrorrhizine (neprotin) is a protoberberine alkaloid derived from plants like Enantia chlorantha. It exhibits antimicrobial and antifungal properties and acts as a noncompetitive monoamine oxidase inhibitor (IC50 4 μM for MAO-A, 62 μM for MAO-B) . This compound is used in research on neurochemistry and infectious diseases in vitro.
