Pifithrin α
Pifithrin-α hydrobromide is a selective inhibitor of the tumor suppressor p53, blocking its transcriptional activity. It is widely used in research to study p53-mediated apoptosis and cellular stress responses, and has been applied in both in vitro and in vivo models to investigate ischemia, neurodegeneration, and chemotherapy-induced toxicity.
