4-Nitrophenyl α-D-galactopyranoside
4-Nitrophenyl α-D-galactopyranoside (PNP-α-D-Gal) is a chromogenic substrate for detecting α-galactosidase activity. Its hydrolysis releases p-nitrophenol, enabling quantitative enzyme assays in vitro, widely used in enzymology and lysosomal storage disorder research such as Fabry disease.
