N-Methylcytisine

N-Methylcytisine (Caulophylline) exhibits high affinity (KD = 5 nM) for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) from squid optical ganglia. Unlike its derivatives, cytisine effectively inhibits 14C-tubocurarine binding (Ki=7 nM) . This compound is a valuable research tool for studying nAChR pharmacology and ligand interactions in neurobiological in vitro assays.
