Acetylshikonin is a bioactive shikonin derivative that exhibits antiangiogenic and antitumor effects by inhibiting cell proliferation and NADPH oxidase assembly. It induces apoptosis in cancer cells via endoplasmic reticulum stress and Nur77 pathway modulation, while also demonstrating anti-inflammatory activity by suppressing mast cell degranulation in vivo.
