D-Alanine is the D-isomer of the non-essential amino acid alanine. It acts as a weak agonist of the inhibitory glycine receptor (GlyR) and PMBA, with an EC50 of 9 mM for GlyR. This compound is used in neuroscience research to study glycine receptor function and modulation in various in vitro assays.
