Methyl acetylacetate
Methyl acetoacetate is a metabolic biomarker found in urine of patients with propionyl-CoA carboxylase deficiency and following isoleucine loading in 2-methylacetoacetyl-CoA thiolase deficiency. It is used in research applications for studying inborn errors of branched-chain amino acid and fatty acid metabolism, both in vitro and in clinical diagnostic investigations.
