D-Isoleucine
D-Isoleucine is a selective activator of the Asc-1 transporter. By promoting the release of endogenous D-serine, it enhances long-term potentiation (LTP) at hippocampal CA1-CA3 synapses. This makes it a valuable research tool for studying synaptic plasticity, NMDA receptor function, and related neurological mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo models.
