Tectol is a moderately active antiplasmodial and antiproliferative small molecule (IC50 = 3.44±0.20 μM), showing significant activity against HL60 and CEM leukemia cell lines in vitro. It has been investigated for antimalarial and anticancer research. A reported side effect is itchy dermatitis on the neck, trunk, and limbs.
