An angiotensin II receptor antagonist used mainly for the treatment of hypertension.Hypertension Approved (In Vivo) :Candesartan (i.p.; 1 mg/kg/day; continuously for 1, 3 or 28 dpi) has neuroprotective effect, reducing neuronal injury, decreasing lesion volume and microglial activation, protecting CBF and improving functional behavior in a mouse model of TBI.
