Tenoxicam
Tenoxicam, an antiinflammatory agent with analgesic and antipyretic properties, is used to treat osteoarthritis and control acute pain. (In Vitro) :Tenoxicam (Ro-12-0068) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) . (In Vivo) :Tenoxicam (Ro-12-0068) was administered intraperitoneally immediately after BCAO. Histological analyses show that ischemia produced significant striatal as well as hippocampal lesions which were reversed by the Tenoxicam (Ro-12-0068) treatment. Tenoxicam (Ro-12-0068) also significantly reduced, to control levels, the increased myeloperoxidase activity in hippocampus homogenates observed after ischemia.
