Gaultherin is a natural analgesic and anti-inflammatory compound that avoids gastric ulceration by releasing salicylate in the intestine, sparing gastric COX-1. It is used in research on inflammation, pain models, and gastrointestinal safety in both in vitro and in vivo experimental systems.
