DL-3-Phenyllactic acid
3-Phenyllactic acid (PhLA) is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent active against various bacteria and fungi. The DL-racemic form is a useful reagent for studying enzyme stereoselectivity, such as in lipase-catalyzed transesterifications and oxidations involving glycolate oxidase and catalase.
